The City of PAE is situated
on Kaurna Country and
we acknowledge and pay
respect to the Kaurna
People of the Adelaide
region as the traditional
owners.We continue to
recognise Aboriginal people
as the first Australians,
with a unique culture and
spiritual relationship to the
land and sea that they have
strived to retain through the period of non-indigenous
settlement.
NungaWeek is a time to recognise and support the
cultural, spiritual, health, emotional and economic
wellbeing of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people
that live in our region.
It’s a time to showcase the local history, the
achievements and experience the richness and diversity
of Aboriginal culture across PAE.
It’s also a time to increase participation and inclusion
across the whole of community, both Aboriginal and
non-Aboriginal.
I thank our partners and people who have contributed
to the upcoming events, and look forward to celebrating
this special week.
